I purchased my first pair of Golden Goose sneakers a few months ago (you might remember seeing them in a recent post), and got tons of questions from you guys ever since. So many that I thought it was time for a full review! I’ve also worn them enough now that I can confidently speak to their craftsmanship, and a number of other aspects about them, which you’ll see broken down further.

I’d say they fit just right, based on my pair.
They haven’t stretched much, so if you’re golden goose black sneakers between sizes, I’d go up
How comfy are they?
They felt good right away. I wear no-show socks with them, especially since they reduce sweat. High-end Italian leather construction, so it’s much more pleasant than breaking in fake leather. Also, they’re already broken-in so your feet just get comfortable fast.
How durable are they?
They look worn from the start, I didn’t worry about scuffing them more. I’ve worn them all over NYC, and they’ve held up beautifully. The laces are intact, and the leather hasn’t stretched. Thanks to the vintage look, I don’t really notice if there’s new wear and tear.
How do they compare to other sneakers?
These are the best sneakers I own. I wear Vejas and Tretons too, but Golden Goose still come out on top. They include a built-in arch bump that adds support and height — making your legs look longer. Also, they’re not mass-produced, so each pair is custom-feeling. And the shine on mine? Next-level.
Are they worth it?
Yes! But I’d recommend waiting for a sale. They’re expensive, so getting them with a promo is a better idea. They’re worth the investment, especially if you pick something you’ll wear a lot. I went bold with sparkle, but a neutral version would also look great.

How do they perform over time?
Since they come pre-distressed, I didn’t worry about wearing them outside. I’ve worn them all over NYC, and they’ve held up beautifully. Nothing has torn, and the shape stayed solid.
Since the aesthetic is distressed, I don’t really notice if there’s new wear and tear.
